Chicago-based five-piece Brigitte Calls Me Baby performs live on their Irreversible Tour, supported by Common People and DJ Jake Rudh.
Brigitte Calls Me Baby play First Avenue on Saturday, November 7, as part of their Irreversible Tour. They're a five-piece from Chicago, and this is their second record. The first, The Future Is Our Way Out, got plenty of attention when it came out, and they've been on the road since then.
Irreversible was produced by Yves Rothman and Lawrence Rothman—Lawrence is one half of Blondshell and Yves is one half of Yves Tumor—and the band recorded it live at Lawrence's place. That choice caught the energy of a relentless touring schedule that included a Lollapalooza set and sharing bills with Morrissey and Muse. Frontman Leavins' croon runs through the record and gives it a strong emotional pull.
Opening for them are Common People, an alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles in 2022 with Nicky Winegardner on vocals, and Jake Rudh, a Minneapolis club and radio DJ who hosts Transmission on 89.3 The Current every Thursday night. The show is in the Mainroom at First Avenue, which has been the center of live music in Minneapolis since 1970.
