All-ages theatrical listening experience in which the musical Botanic Garden unfolds through an exclusive audio recording with captions and visuals.
Botanic Garden The Musical comes to Crooners Supper Club on Monday, October 26, as a theatrical listening event. It's not a traditional stage production—the lights go down and the story unfolds through an exclusive audio recording, with captions and a visual environment to follow along with. The whole thing runs about 70 minutes.
Botanic Garden was written by playwright and lyricist Todd Logan and composer and lyricist Lindsay Jones. It premiered in Chicago in 2008, directed by Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis, and spent the years since touring and playing in theaters through 2023. Along the way, it picked up Best Play at the 2017 New York Theater Festival.
This particular staging is a listening experience, so you're hearing the musical as a recording rather than watching a live cast on stage. The captions and visuals keep you grounded in the story while the audio does the heavy lifting. It's presented by Crooners Supper Club as an all-ages, in-person event, and they've noted there are no refunds.
