Live concert by Benmont Tench, keyboardist of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, at The Dakota on Nicollet Mall.
Benmont Tench plays The Dakota on Friday, November 20, 2026. He's the founding keyboardist of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, and he's performing here on his own.
If you've spent any time with Petty's records, you've heard Tench's work all over them. He was there from the start, and his keys—the Hammond B3, the piano, the Wurlitzer—were a huge part of the sound that defined the band. This is a chance to hear him step out from the band and take the lead himself.
The Dakota is at 1010 Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis. It's one of the few spots in the Twin Cities that does two things at once: it serves a full, chef-driven menu and hosts world-class music performances. You can eat a proper meal and see a show in the same room, which makes it an easy place to spend a whole evening rather than just dropping in for a set.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Minneapolis and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Tench is the only name on the bill for this one. The show starts at 7 PM.
