Concert featuring the UK emo and alternative rock band Basement, with special guests High Vis, Big Boy and Lowertown at the iconic First Avenue venue.
Basement play the First Avenue Mainroom on Tuesday, November 3, with High Vis, Big Boy and Lowertown. It's a full bill coming from across the Atlantic, and the headliners have a long history behind them.
Basement formed in 2009 and has stayed the same five friends ever since: vocalist Andrew Fisher, guitarists Alex Henery and Ronan Crix, bassist Duncan Stewart and drummer James Fisher. They hail from Ipswich, England, and play a blend of emo and alternative rock known for evocative lyrics and dynamic soundscapes, with 'Covet' as one of their better-known tracks. The lineup is a rare constant for a band that's been together this long.
They're bringing along High Vis as the special guest, a band that grew out of a cross-section of UK punk groups in 2016 and has built a reputation for passionate live performances and a poetic, progressive discography. Lowertown is the duo of Avsha Weinberg and Olivia Osby, who first met in high school math class. Together they make for a night of UK-born guitar music on a Minneapolis stage.
