Open studio session to mend, replace or create new jewelry in the Art Lab, with guidance from the Walker's trained educators, on a Free Thursday Night.
Art Club: Open Studio - Jewelry Making is happening at the Walker Art Center on Thursday, October 22, from 5 PM to 8 PM. It's an open studio session held in the Art Lab, where the idea is to mend, replace, or make new jewelry in a communal crafting setting. If you're stuck, the Walker's trained educators are on hand to help with ideas and simple guidance, so you don't need to be an expert to get something together.
The session is part of Art Club, a series that runs from September through May and invites visitors to try out new mediums, ideas, and inspirations in the Art Lab. This particular one focuses on jewelry, but it's just one of the different workshops the club hosts throughout the season.
It also falls under the museum's Free Thursday Nights, a weekly evening program that brings the galleries to life with out-of-the-ordinary experiences and guest artists, and opens the museum's doors free of charge to everyone. That means the galleries stay open until 9 PM, an hour after the jewelry session wraps up, so you can hang around and see the rest of the building.
