Five-night run of Lucinda Williams & Her Band playing The Dakota with her new album 'World's Gone Wrong'.
Lucinda Williams is playing The Dakota on Friday, November 13, as part of a five-night run in Minneapolis. She's touring her new album, World's Gone Wrong, and the shows range from full-band to acoustic, which she describes as a night of gritty Americana and raw songwriting.
World's Gone Wrong is a ten-track record she wrote and recorded with her husband, manager, and co-producer Tom Overby and guitarist Doug Pettibone. The songs were a response to the events of spring 2025, and the album mixes her usual uncensored storytelling with more urgent, topical material. It's the kind of record that sits right in the middle of her career: the storytelling that's always been there, now turned toward more recent ground.
For those who know her from the older stuff, that's still part of the conversation. She's a multiple Grammy winner, and Car Wheels on a Gravel Road came out back in 1998. In 2001, Time magazine named her America's Best Songwriter. This tour is built around the new songs, but the set draws from that whole back catalogue, too.

The Dakota is at 1010 Nicollet Mall, and it's one of the few spots in the Twin Cities that pairs a full, chef-driven menu with world-class music, so you can make a night of it. The November 13 show starts at 7 PM, and it's part of a five-night run that includes Friday the 13th, Saturday the 14th, and Wednesday the 18th.
