Alla Boara brings recognition and new life to Italy's diverse regional folk music with modern arrangements, part of The Cedar's Global Roots Series.
Alla Boara plays The Cedar Cultural Center on Sunday, November 22, from 7:30 to 10:30 PM. The evening is part of The Cedar's Global Roots Series, a year-round program of global artists and musical traditions from a wide range of countries and cultures, which advances the center's mission to promote intercultural appreciation and understanding through the presentation of global music.
Boara works to bring recognition and new life to Italy's diverse regional folk music, reimagining traditional material through modern arrangements that they describe as surprising, playful and tender, and that move audiences from all backgrounds to treasure their own musical roots. The set draws on those regional folk traditions from across Italy, reworked into something that doesn't just preserve the old songs but gives them a new way to be heard.
