Farewell show of bossa nova and Brazilian jazz with vocalist Natania Kamin and the band Ticket to Brasil, around the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim.
Natania and Ticket to Brasil play Crooners Supper Club on Sunday, October 25, their show billed as a farewell. The set is built around the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim and other legends of bossa nova and Brazilian jazz, and it runs about an hour and a half in the Main Stage Showroom.
Natania Kamin is a vocalist, songwriter, and dancer who describes herself as devoted to sharing the music of her native Brazil with American audiences. She's joined by Ticket to Brasil, a bossa nova, samba, and Brazilian jazz project founded by contemporary jazz guitarist and composer Pavel Jany. The group has played numerous national and international jazz events and has opened for Trio Brasileiro, Brazilian singer Cibelle, and American jazz vocalist Karrin Allyson.
The full lineup for the night includes Kamin on vocals, Jany on guitar, John Croarkin on sax, flute, and harmonica, Ted Godbout on piano, Anibal Soars on bass, and Josue Alfaro on drums and percussion. With a six-piece on stage, the Jobim material gets a full band treatment rather than the stripped-back sound often associated with bossa nova.
