A high-energy musical theatre show set in a fully working pub, featuring nine performers who sing, dance and serve drinks on stage.
The Choir of Man is at the Lyric Theatre from Tuesday 13 to Saturday 17 October, its first ever UK tour date after coming direct from the West End. The show is a choral experience set in a fully working pub, with nine burly cast members who are poets, dancers, musicians and vocalists. They deliver soaring harmonies and high-energy dance routines to pub tunes, folk classics, Broadway hits and classic rock and pop anthems, all while pulling pints and inviting the audience to drink in the music on stage.
It was created by Nic Doodson and Andrew Kay, and it first took off as a runaway hit at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Doodson directed it, Jack Blume handled the orchestrations, and Freddie Huddleston took care of the movement direction and choreography. Along the way, it picked up an Olivier Award nomination for Best Entertainment or Comedy Play.
