The award-winning musical Billy Elliot returns to the Palace Theatre, with music by Elton John, following Billy's journey from the boxing ring to the ballet class.
Billy Elliot the Musical returns to the Palace Theatre on Wednesday 2 December, running through to Saturday 9 January 2027. It's a long run that takes you right through the Christmas and New Year period, so there's plenty of room to fit it in when it suits you.
Set in a northern town during the miners' strike of 1984/5, the story follows Billy's journey from the boxing ring to the ballet class, where he discovers a passion for dance. It was brought to the stage by the same award-winning creative team behind the original film, with music by Elton John. Since then, it's grown into one of the most successful and beloved British musicals of all time, seen by almost 12 million people across five continents and honoured with more than 80 awards worldwide.

Because it runs for over a month, you've got a fair few options for when to catch it. Performances are at 14:30 and 19:30, so you can go for a matinee or an evening show. With the run stretching from early December into the first week of January, it works as a Christmas outing or something to see after the holidays have wound down.
