A full day creative careers convention exploring careers in make-up, hair, photography, TV, film and content creation, with demonstrations, workshops, talks and a fashion show.
SHELEN is taking over Aviva Studios on Monday 19 October for The Creative Edit, a full day dedicated to careers in make-up, hair, photography, TV, film and content creation. It runs from 9.30am to 5.30pm across The Social, the Lab and the Lower Hall Foyer, so it's a proper day out rather than a quick drop-in.
SHELEN is a creative brand that works with people through artistry, supporting aspiring artists, educators and industry professionals to build confidence and hone their craft. The Creative Edit sits within Factory International's Factory Academy, the organisation's strand of creative learning, and it's framed as a creative careers event for anyone interested in make-up, hair, photography, TV, film, fashion and digital content creation. It's suitable for all ages, so it works as much for someone just starting out as for someone already in the industry.
There's a fair bit to get stuck into throughout the day. You can watch make-up and hair demonstrations on a live camera set, hear from stars of the BBC's Glow Up on stage, and take in a fashion show featuring local talent. There are also awards to enter, including Make-Up Artist of the Year, Model of the Year and Musician of the Year. Confirmed contributors include MUA Cosmetics, Warpaint Magazine, artists from Glow Up, the Manchester Fashion Movement and film directors.
