Annual harvest day with creative workshops for all ages led by artist Jasmin Issaka, culminating in a 'play in a day' performance and seasonal food.
Platt Fields Market Garden is holding its annual Harvest Celebrations on Saturday 17 October, a day built around creative workshops that run from 10am to 4pm. They're open to all ages, so it's as much for kids as for adults. Local artist Jasmin Issaka leads the sessions, and the work covers set building, costume making and performance.
The whole morning and afternoon build towards a 'play in a day' performed by the participants themselves towards the end of the afternoon, with the performance starting at 5pm. If you're not into the making side of things, you can still turn up for that part and watch what the day has produced.
Food runs alongside the making. MUD Kitchen and ARMR are hosting a lunch for the workshop participants and a dinner for attendees after the show, with a seasonal feast on the table. The day is held in conjunction with the perfumery Ffern as part of their Folk Foundation initiative, which supports a new generation of British folk arts and traditions.
