A family ice skating show following the search for Tinker Bell, with characters and scenes from popular Disney films.
Disney On Ice presents Discover the Magic comes to the AO Arena in Manchester from Wednesday 16 to Sunday 20 December, a five-day run that puts a lot of options on the table if you're planning a family trip. The whole thing is built around a search for Tinker Bell, and that quest is what carries you through several different Disney worlds. You'll find Miguel in the spirit realm of Coco, Moana on the ocean, Belle's enchanted chandelier, and Elsa's frozen kingdom, with Stitch crashing the action with a few mischievous surprises along the way.
It's a fast-paced, family-friendly production that relies on ice skating and aerial stunts to bring the stories to life, with scenes from Coco, Moana, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Lilo & Stitch, Aladdin, Toy Story and The Little Mermaid. There's non-stop music throughout, and the different worlds are woven together by that search for Tinker Bell, so it's more of a continuous show than a series of separate sketches. It's designed for all ages, so it works as much for the little ones as it does for anyone who grew up with these films.
