Musical based on the hit 2010 film, with songs by Christina Aguilera, Sia and Diane Warren, following a young woman drawn into the world of burlesque.
Burlesque The Musical is coming to the Manchester Opera House from 5 to 23 January 2027, as part of its UK tour. It's the stage adaptation of the 2010 film, written by Steven Antin with additional material by Kate Wetherhead, and directed and choreographed by Nick Winston.
The story is set in New York City and follows Ali, who heads to the city in search of her mother and finds herself drawn into an underground world of music and dance. There, a struggling burlesque lounge is fighting for its survival against big-shot developers. The score brings together songs from the film's star Christina Aguilera, who also executive produces, alongside Sia and Diane Warren, with additional numbers by Todrick Hall and Jess Folley.
On stage, Faye Brookes plays Tess Richarde, Gracie O'Brien is Ali Rose, Ryan Carter takes on Sean and Ms Loretta, and Davide Fienauri plays Vince. The show first opened in the West End at the Savoy Theatre between July and September 2025 before heading out on this tour.
