World stage premiere of the psychological thriller, starring Giovanna Fletcher, at the Lyric Theatre.
Before I Go To Sleep plays at the Lyric Theatre from 4 to 8 May 2027, as part of its UK tour that kicks off in January. It's a stage adaptation of S.J. Watson's bestselling novel, with a version by Rachel Wagstaff and Loveday Ingram — the same pair who adapted The Girl On The Train.
The story follows Christine Lucas, a woman with an acute form of amnesia who forgets her past every single night. She relies on a journal to recall not only her life but the day before, and as she reads back through it, she starts to uncover frightening secrets buried in her family home. It's a psychological thriller that keeps you guessing, and this production marks its world stage premiere, starring Giovanna Fletcher.
The show is playing at the Lyric Theatre, the biggest of the three theatre spaces at The Lowry in Salford. The Lowry opened in 2000 and takes its name from the Lancashire painter LS Lowry, whose work is housed in the complex's galleries alongside other major touring exhibitions. The Lyric seats 1,730, and the venue also has the 466-seat Quays and the smaller Studio. It's about a ten-minute drive from Manchester city centre, so it's an easy run in from town.
