Free exhibition at Bruce Castle Museum celebrating the Windrush Generation and their descendants in Haringey, from the 1940s to the present day.
Windrush Legends & Legacy is on at Bruce Castle Museum from 18 to 31 October, running Wednesday to Sunday, 1.00pm to 5.00pm. It's an exhibition dedicated to the Windrush Generation and their descendants in Haringey, tracing decades of history from the 1940s through to the present day.
What makes this one a bit different from your usual local history display is the scope. It doesn't just stop with the first generation who arrived from the Caribbean; it follows the story through to their children and grandchildren, so you get to see how that initial arrival shaped families and communities across the years. It's a look at the long-term legacy of the Windrush era, told through the people who lived it right here in the borough.
The exhibition takes over a recently curated, permanent gallery space at the museum, so it's not a pop-up that'll be gone in a few days. It's part of the museum's ongoing collection, which means you've got a good window to catch it. If you can't make it during the first week, you've got the rest of the month to work around.

It's free of charge, so there's nothing to put you off. The museum is at Lordship Lane, London N17 8NU, and it's open Wednesday to Sunday, 1.00pm to 5.00pm, from 18 to 31 October.
