Guided tour of the historic Stationers' Hall, the home of the English book trade for over six centuries, exploring its rooms, architecture and history.
Stationers' Hall is opening its doors for a guided tour on Monday 25 January, from 10:00 to 11:00. It's run by the Stationers' Company, one of the City's Great Livery Companies, whose Hall has stood at the heart of the English book trade for more than six centuries.
The tour takes you through the building's rooms to uncover its history, its architecture and the hidden stories behind the venue. Along the way, the Company explains how its work shaped the way books and writing have been produced and regulated in this country — a bit of City history that usually stays behind closed doors. The walk takes around an hour, and all proceeds go to the Stationers' Hall Charity.
