Immersive art experience led by Sean Rogg in which around forty guests move in silence through a 35,000 sq ft custom-built labyrinth of sound, scent, light and dance.
The Waldorf Project returns to London from 11 November to 20 December, with Chapter Five/KAIHOGYO presented by Sean Rogg. It's an immersive art experience rather than a play or a gig, and it runs from a secret North London location throughout the winter.
Sean Rogg founded The Waldorf Project in 2012 after seven years of research into how to access transcendental states of consciousness without mind-altering drugs, tapping into the psychological phenomenon known as the flow state. Each chapter is built around a single human idea, and this fifth instalment takes its name from the Kaihogyo, the thousand-day mountain marathon undertaken by Japan's Tendai Buddhist monks on Mount Hiei in pursuit of enlightenment.
It's described as a single choreographed work of art consumed through every sense at once. Around forty guests surrender their phones, jewellery and perfume at the door, change into a uniform in a theatrical changing room and are led in silence through a 35,000 sq ft custom-built labyrinth. Dancers act as guides and teachers, moving the group through sound, scent, light and live physical interaction across an enormous set, before a finale in which the whole room becomes a single synchronised organism.
