The Pogues, with original members James Fearnley, Jem Finer and Spider Stacy, play their London shows on a UK greatest hits tour.
The Pogues are back at the O2 Forum Kentish Town on Tuesday 15 December, one of two London dates they're playing that month. They're touring the UK again after anniversary runs across Britain and North America, and this one is part of a wider greatest hits tour that takes them to Portsmouth, Nottingham, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow.
On stage, the band is led by original members James Fearnley, Jem Finer and Spider Stacy, who are joined by their usual collection of special guest musicians and singers, including some of the current generation of Irish artists. They're working through a songbook they describe as one of the most influential bodies of work to emerge from the 1980s, and the set gives new life to 'Fairytale of New York', 'Dirty Old Town', 'A Pair of Brown Eyes', 'Rainy Night in Soho' and 'If I Should Fall From Grace With God'.
Opening the night are Martin Stephenson & The Daintees, who'll get things moving before The Pogues take over. With two London dates that December, you've got a couple of chances to catch them if you're around the city then, rather than having to travel to one of the other UK stops on the run.
