OK Go play the O2 Forum Kentish Town on Saturday 14 November, part of a run of UK autumn shows they're calling the And The Adjacent Possible Tour. The tour celebrates their fifth album, And The Adjacent Possible, which earned a Grammy nomination.
If you only know them from the videos, it's worth remembering where they started. They formed as a quartet in Chicago in 1998 and moved to Los Angeles three years later, and they've spent the decades since becoming as much a fixture of visual art as of pop. Their award-winning videos and collaborations with pioneering dance companies, tech giants, NASA, animators and the Muppets have pushed them well beyond the usual band territory — one experiment even saw them encode their music onto actual strands of DNA. That work sits in the permanent collection of MoMA, and they've picked up twenty-one Cannes Lions, twelve CLIOs, three VMAs, two Webbys, The Smithsonian Ingenuity Award and a Grammy.
On the night, they're joined by support from Michael Wilbur, of Moon Hooch. The London date is one stop in a wider UK tour this autumn, with the set built around And The Adjacent Possible.
