The Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards

The Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards are taking over the Blank Canvas Gallery at FRAMELESS in Marble Arch, opening Saturday 12 September 2026 and running through to January 2027. It's a decade of the world's funniest wildlife photography brought together in one place, and if you've ever spent too long scrolling through animal memes, this is basically the high-res, immersive version.

Inside, 91 of the funniest images from ten years of the awards are projected full-scale across seven different natural habitats. It's not just a gallery walk, either: each one comes with its own spatial soundscape, so you'll hear the rustle of the forest floor or the sound of breaking waves while you're looking at the photos. Co-founder Tom Sullam describes it as an 'upbeat, positive and enhancing experience', which sums it up pretty well.

The awards themselves started back in 2015 in a small office in Tanzania, when wildlife photographer Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE realised that making people laugh could be a powerful way to get them to care about the threats facing wildlife. Along with fellow photographer Tom Sullam, he set up a competition that uses humour to build empathy with animals and to encourage people to value and protect the natural world. It's billed as the world's funniest wildlife photography competition, and it draws thousands of entries every year from photographers of all ages and abilities across more than a hundred countries. The 2026 shortlist took 43 finalists from more than 10,000 submissions.

Tickets start from £27.50 for adults, £18 for children, £20 for seniors 65+, and £82 for a family of two adults and two children.
