Music-led pub quiz with teams of up to four facing jazz challenges from the piano, hosted by quizmaster Caro Fontanieu.
The Jazz Social Pub Quiz returns to The Jazz Social on Tuesday 10 November, with Caro Fontanieu as quizmaster. It's part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, and it's back at the festival's pop-up hangout: a ground-floor, step-free room at Citypoint, 1 Ropemaker Street, just a stone's throw from the Barbican Centre. The space doubles as a hub for the whole festival, hosting intimate live performances, one-off events, live radio broadcasts and family-friendly activities throughout the run.
Fontanieu arrives in London after a decade in New York, and the format is a classic pub quiz. Teams of up to four take on music-led challenges delivered straight from the piano, with questions that mix loose jazz-based fun and genuine jazz trivia. The winning team takes home festival merchandise and gig tickets. It's the kind of night that works as well if you've spent your life in record shops as if you've only just started listening.
If you're planning to go, there are a few things to keep in mind. Seating is first come first served, so if you want a good spot for your team, it's worth getting there a bit early. Anyone under 14 has to be accompanied by an adult. The venue's bar stays open until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, and there's a daily happy hour from 5pm to 7pm, so you can easily make a night of it.

Doors open at 7:00pm and the quiz kicks off at 8:00pm. Entry is £2 per quizzer, payable at the venue. The festival is produced by Serious, with EFG as title sponsor.
