Kristin Scott Thomas returns to the West End as Lyubov Ranevskaya in The Cherry Orchard, which runs at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 3 October 2026 to 9 January 2027. It's a new production of Anton Chekhov's final masterpiece, a tragicomedy about a family on the brink of irreversible change. Ranevskaya returns to her childhood estate after years abroad to find her home and her beloved cherry orchard under threat, as old loyalties falter and a world of privilege begins to crumble.
Scott Thomas is joined by Stephen Mangan as Lopakhin, with Ruby Bentall as Sharlotta, Megan Cusack as Dunyasha, Karl Johnson as Firs, Noof Oussellam as Yasha, Nadia Parkes as Anya, Jack Riddiford as Trofimov, and Vinette Robinson as Varya. The production is directed by Ian Rickson, who previously worked with Scott Thomas on his award-winning The Seagull. This version uses a new adaptation by Conor McPherson and is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions. The play follows the original 1904 staging at the Maly Theatre in St Petersburg.
