Interactive educational show by Teach Rex using life-like dinosaur puppets to explore the anatomy and life of Tyrannosaurus rex, with a meet and greet.
Teach Rex brings their dinosaur show to the Flett Events Theatre at the Natural History Museum from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October, with sessions at 10:30, 13:00 and 15:30 each day. It's a run of five days, so there's plenty of room to fit it in around your week.
The show is built around life-like dinosaur puppets that Teach Rex uses to walk the audience through the anatomy and life of Tyrannosaurus rex. It's an interactive thing, and the puppets are large and realistic, with the room filling with roaring sounds as they work the crowd. The educational part runs for about an hour, and it's recommended for ages three and over, though there's no strict upper limit—it's popular with adults too. After the show, there's a meet and greet where you can take photos with the dinosaurs.
It's part of the Museum's Family Festival: Ocean, which this year is themed around the Jurassic Oceans: Monsters of the Deep exhibition. If you're already planning to be in the building, the Dinosaurs Gallery has animatronic T. Rex figures lit in blue light, so you can see the real thing before or after the show.
