Dark comedy monologue in which a meek woman slakes her cravings by devouring the misogynist men who intrude on her life.
Succubus comes to The Courtyard Theatre in Shoreditch on Wednesday 28 October, a dark comedy monologue written and performed by Georgina Collins. It's a solo show that blends cannibalism, eroticism and dark wit, and it arrives in London as a five-star Fringe hit.
The story follows a meek, mousy protagonist who is overtaken by terrible cravings, which she slakes by literally devouring the misogynist men who intrude on her quiet life. Collins originally conceived the piece as a response to the medical misogyny she'd experienced herself, and she describes the result as a little bit Dracula, a little bit Buffy, and most reminiscent of Naomi Alderman's novel The Power. Grainne Robson directs, and an older succubus with an Eastern European accent turns up as the protagonist's mentor. The whole thing is billed as a delightfully deranged solo horror-comedy.

Collins is also known as the burlesque artist Strawberry Duvall, so there's a bit of a double life at work here, too. The show runs for an hour, and tickets are £11. It's at The Courtyard Theatre, 40 Pitfield St, London N1 6EU, with the performance starting at 19:00.
