Sports night and Halloween party with two rooms of music for UCL student sports teams at Scala in Kings Cross, with entry at £3.
Sports Night returns to Scala on Wednesday 28 October, this time as a Halloween party. It's run by TeamUCL, the UCL student sports team, in partnership with Milkshake events, and they bill it as the biggest night out for the university's sports teams. Every penny of profit goes straight back into growing TeamUCL, so it's a night that doubles as a fundraiser for the sports teams themselves. The whole thing is part of the Students' Union UCL Wednesday-night scene and the wider nightlife series they run throughout the term.
Inside, the music is split across two rooms. The Main Room handles the commercial hits, club bangers and anthems, while Room Two covers hip hop, grime, garage and R&B, so you can switch between the two depending on what you're in the mood for. If you're looking to start early, there's a pre-party every Wednesday at Phineas with drinks at £2.30, and Team Presidents can book a table there for the following week.
On the practical side, entry is 18+ with photo ID and a UCL student ID required. The venue runs bag searches and metal detector scans at the door, and there's a designated safe space and a dedicated medical professional on-site. Scala is about a ten-minute walk from Kings Cross station, which makes it easy to get to from most parts of the city.
