An evening with crime writers Harriet Tyce, Tony Medawar and Victoria Dowd exploring Agatha Christie's 'The Murder of Roger Ackroyd', part of the British Library's 'Agatha Christie: A World of Mystery' exhibition.
Roger Ackroyd: The Killer Murder is at the Pigott Theatre, British Library on Thursday 19 November, an evening built around Agatha Christie's The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. The book is a century old now, and the night centres on it: Ackroyd is stabbed in his study after discovering the woman he loved killed her first husband and then took her own life. The organisers describe it as essential reading before you go, because there's little way to appreciate its brilliance without spoilers.
On stage are three crime writers: Harriet Tyce, Tony Medawar and Victoria Dowd. The whole thing sits within the British Library's exhibition Agatha Christie: A World of Mystery, which they've put together with Agatha Christie Limited and The Christie Archive Trust, with support from Great Western Railway. If you're already planning to spend some time with the exhibition, this is a good way to extend the visit into the evening.
