Olivier Award-winning musical about a lost bear from Peru who finds a home with the Brown family in London, with music by Tom Fletcher.
Paddington: The Musical is running at The Savoy Theatre in the Strand, and it's one of those shows that's stayed put for a while — it opened on 1 November 2025 and is scheduled to run until 13 February 2028. If you've never seen it, it's based on Michael Bond's books, with a story inspired by the 2014 film. It follows a small, lost bear from Peru who arrives in London and finds a home with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens, until a mysterious and vengeful villain sets her sights on him. The production is directed by Luke Sheppard, with original music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher and a book by Olivier Award winner Jessica Swale. They describe it as a marmalade-packed adventure of show-stopping songs, dazzling choreography and marmalade sandwiches.
It's a big hit with the critics, too. The Daily Mail called it a 'marmalade-flavoured masterpiece', while The Standard described it as 'the most wonderful theatrical creation in years'. The Daily Express called it 'a triumph' and the Observer an 'irresistibly joyful love letter to London'. It swept the 2026 Laurence Olivier Awards, taking home Best New Musical, Best Actor in a Musical, Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical, Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical, Best Director, Best Set Design and Best Costume Design.
