Monthly open (hour) at the Wimbledon Village Stables

Wimbledon Village Stables opens its doors on Saturday 14 November for its monthly open hour, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. It's a simple, one-hour window on the second Saturday of every month when the yard opens up to visitors, so you can wander through the stables, meet the horses and get a look at how everything runs behind the scenes. If you've walked past the High Street and wondered what goes on inside, this is the time to actually step in.

Beyond the horses, there's the Equicise simulator on view, a horse simulator designed for all ages and abilities. It's there for you to see, and the whole hour is about getting a proper feel for the place rather than just catching a glimpse from the road. There's no booking required, so you can just turn up when it suits you during that hour.

The stables are tucked away on the down side of the Dog and Fox pub on the High Street in Wimbledon, SW19 5DX. It's free to come along, and because it happens every second Saturday, you don't have to rush if you can't make this one — the next dates are Saturday 12 December and Saturday 9 January. If you're around on the 14th, it's 2:00pm to 3:00pm, free entry, no booking needed.
