Three 'Marple-ologists' - Lucy Foley, Kate Mosse and Natalie Haynes - imagine what Agatha Christie's detective would make of the world today.
Miss Marple versus 2027 comes to the Pigott Theatre, British Library on Thursday 28 January, when three writers gather to imagine what Agatha Christie's detective would make of the world today. The evening brings together Lucy Foley, Kate Mosse CBE, and Natalie Haynes to run Marple through the modern age, from the manosphere and true crime to doom-scrolling and a general lack of good manners.
Lucy Foley is a No.1 Sunday Times, Irish Times and New York Times bestselling author whose contemporary murder-mystery thrillers have sold over five million copies worldwide. A lifelong Christie fan, she contributed to Marple, a collection of short stories featuring the detective, and her latest book is Murder at the Grand Alpine Hotel: The New Miss Marple Mystery (HarperCollins 2026). Kate Mosse CBE is an international bestselling novelist and playwright with more than eight million copies sold worldwide and translations into 37 languages; she's also the Founder Director of the Women's Prize for Fiction and Non-Fiction and a Trustee of the British Library. Natalie Haynes' books include A Thousand Ships, shortlisted for the Women's Prize for Fiction in 2020, and No Friend To This House (Pan Macmillan 2025).
