360-degree dance and acrobatic spectacular conceived and directed by Channing Tatum, based on his 'Magic Mike' films, at the Hippodrome Casino.
Magic Mike Live! is still running at The Theatre at the Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square, and it's now in its eighth year in London. The show was conceived and directed by Channing Tatum, based on his films Magic Mike (2012) and Magic Mike XXL (2015). It first launched in Las Vegas in 2017 before touring to venues around the world, and it's been here at the Hippodrome ever since. For the run, the casino's theatre was converted into a 325-seat performance space.
It's a 360-degree dance and acrobatic spectacular, which is a good way of describing how it works: the dancers perform choreographed routines in front of, above and all around the audience, with acrobatic and musical acts mixed in. The show is billed as an unforgettably fun night of sizzling entertainment, and it's described as equal parts empowering and exhilarating, aiming to give women a place where their desires are heard and they're treated like goddesses. More than 300,000 people have seen it in London and over a million worldwide. Channing Tatum doesn't perform in the London production.
