Stand-up show by Lebanese-British comedian Isabelle Farah, billed as a work in progress, at The Camden Head.
Isabelle Farah is at Camden Comedy Club on Tuesday 27 October, with a set she's billing as a work in progress. It's a one-hour show, and the tagline is 'No hummus was harmed in the making of this show.'
Farah is a Lebanese-London comedian and actress who's been picking up some serious momentum lately. The Evening Standard called her the 'next big thing' and Graham Norton described her as a 'heart-beating performer'. Her stand-up draws on motherhood, daughterhood and her Lebanese heritage, so there's a good bit of family and identity in the mix. She's also worked across radio and TV, with appearances on Radio 4, Channel 4 and ITV, including a role in a Walkers Crisps Christmas commercial.
Because it's a work in progress, you're seeing the material while it's still being shaped. That's the trade-off: you get a look at a new show before it's fully polished, and the room is part of the process. It's a good way to catch someone on the rise before they're playing much bigger rooms.
