Christopher Nolan's Interstellar is screened with Hans Zimmer's score performed live by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
Interstellar returns to the big screen at The O2 on Sunday 23 May 2027, with Hans Zimmer's score performed live. It's Christopher Nolan's 2014 sci-fi epic, and the music is played in synchronisation with the film by a 65-piece orchestra.
Among the musicians is organist Roger Sayer, who recorded the original organ parts at London's Temple Church and was personally selected by Zimmer for the role. The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Matt Dunkley, is well-versed in this film-in-concert format. They've staged live scores for Top Gun: Maverick, Avatar, Skyfall, Gladiator, Back to the Future and Home Alone, and they've brought Interstellar to London's Royal Albert Hall before.
The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Sir Michael Caine and Casey Affleck, and took home the Oscar for Best Visual Effects. Zimmer's score earned Academy Award and BAFTA nominations.
