Co-headlining concert by Suede and Manic Street Preachers at The O2 Arena in North Greenwich.
Suede and Manic Street Preachers share a bill at The O2 on Friday 6 November, co-headlining the North Greenwich arena. It's a double bill of two bands that both came up in the late eighties and have spent the last three decades working their way through very different versions of British guitar music.
Suede formed in London in 1989, when Brett Anderson and Justine Frischmann brought in bassist Mat Osman and guitarist Bernard Butler. 'Animal Nitrate' took them into the top ten in February 1993, and while Butler left during the Dog Man Star sessions, Coming Up became their biggest commercial success in 1996. They reunited in 2010 and have been back in the studio since, with Antidepressants arriving in September 2025. Autofiction reached number two in 2022, and since then they've played to their largest audiences, including Alexandra Palace in the summer of 2024.
Manic Street Preachers formed at Oakdale Comprehensive School in Blackwood, South Wales, in 1986, and have been a unique force since their 1992 debut Generation Terrorists. NME called them 'Godlike Geniuses', Mojo 'Maverick Artists', and they were named Best Band at the BRIT Awards. Their 2025 album Critical Thinking tackles the anxieties of the social media age, and their live shows pair early classics like 'You Love Us' and 'Motorcycle Emptiness' with chart hits like 'If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next' — their first number one in 1998 — and 'A Design for Life'.
