House of Burlesque... SPEAKEASY

House of Burlesque are running their Speakeasy residency every Saturday at QT at The Middle Eight Hotel in Covent Garden. It's a live cabaret show put on by the UK's top burlesque production house, and the whole thing is built around their 'Burlesque Queen', Tempest Rose, who shares the stage with fan-dancing divas and tassel-twirling performers. The residency first launched at Madame Jojo's, and it's still running as a Saturday night fixture in the West End.

They lean into the speakeasy theme with a bit of theatre around getting in: you're sent a secret password to gain access to the venue's exclusive lair, and the room runs a special Happy Hour show menu. It's strictly 18+, and you're welcome to stay for drinks after the show finishes. The night sits alongside the rest of the House of Burlesque repertoire, which also includes beginners' burlesque courses, House of Burlesque: Overture, and a New Year's Eve show.

On the practical side, doors open at 6pm, and they ask that you arrive by 6.15pm. The show finishes around 8.15pm, so it's an early one that leaves your whole evening open. If you're feeling adventurous, there's a pre-show burlesque class from 5pm, though that's pre-booking only and limited to 15 people.

Tickets start at £20.99 for the show, with a standing-only option for £17.00. There are a few VIP tiers if you want something more: VIP Show Classic is £35.00, VIP Show Elite is £45.00, and VIP Primadonna is £125.00, which includes half a bottle of champagne and a pair of nipple tassels.
