A spooky Halloween trail with illuminated trees, ghoulish installations, fire performers and actors at Kew Gardens.
Halloween at Kew returns to Kew Gardens from 16 October to 1 November, back for its third year. It's put on by the same team behind Christmas at Kew, in partnership with RG Live and Sony Music. As dusk falls, the Royal Botanic Gardens transform into a spooky playground: a 1.5km trail of ghostly realms and eerie woods, flickering flames, neon-illuminated cobwebs, wicked witches, pumpkins and a forgotten fairground.
The walk takes around one to one and a half hours, and the scare level climbs as the night goes on. Along the way, you'll run into Dracula, the Headless Horseman, a brand new cursed tomb, live fire performers and Frankenstein's laboratory. There's a food stall called 'Frightful Food & Devilish Delights' serving freaky fries, rich hot chocolate, monster marshmallows toasted over open flames and hot toddies.
It's an evening event, so you'll need to time your visit. From 16 to 24 October, it runs 6pm to 10pm, and from 25 October to 1 November, the start time moves earlier to 4pm, still closing at 10pm. You'll enter through Victoria Gate, Elizabeth Gate or Brentford Gate only. Keep in mind that daylight tickets for the gardens are sold separately from the trail, so if you want to see the gardens by day and the trail by night, you'll need two separate bookings.
