New production of Laura Lomas's play 'Chaos', directed by Amelia Sears, in which young characters search for meaning in a complicated, unstable world.
Guildhall School is staging Chaos at the Milton Court Theatre from Monday 19 to Saturday 24 October, with the 19th as a preview. It's a new production of Laura Lomas's play, directed by Amelia Sears and designed by Peter Butler, running about an hour and 15 minutes without an interval.
Lomas originally wrote Chaos for the National Theatre Connections Festival in 2019, and this is its new staging for the Guildhall School. The play is described as a symphony of dislocated and interconnected scenes, with young characters searching for meaning in a complicated, unstable world. It draws on physics, the cosmos, love and violence to build that picture.
It's a play with a fair amount of adult content, so it's worth knowing what you're signing up for: strong language, depictions of violence, scenes of a sexual nature, alcohol abuse, and themes relating to mental illness and discrimination. If that's not your thing, you'll want to keep that in mind before booking.
