Friday night of butcher's cut steak with peppercorn and béarnaise sauce and bottomless fries at the historic Grade II listed 1 Lombard Street.
1 Lombard Street runs its Friday Steak Night every Friday from 3pm, from 27 March to 18 December. It's a simple enough premise: a butcher's cut steak, peppercorn and béarnaise sauce, and bottomless fries. The steak comes from Hannan Meats and is selected by master butcher Peter Hannan, who's known for his heritage and craft. They cook it the way it should be, and the fries keep coming until you've had your fill.
The setting is a Grade II listed building in the City, so you're eating in a place with some real history behind it. And there's a bit more to the night than just the steak: the venue's cocktail club opens only on Fridays, so you can move from the table to the bar whenever you fancy. The house line is that Fridays at 1 Lombard Street have always had their own rhythm, and now they come with a little more substance.

On the practical side, it's £25 per person for steak frites with a glass of wine, or £27 if you want the bottomless fries. It kicks off at 3pm, so it works as a late lunch, an early dinner, or something in between. You'll find it at 1 Lombard Street, 1 Lombard St, London EC3V 9AA.
