Two-day walk-around Italian wine festival with tastings from producers across Italy, using tokens for 75ml samples at Eataly.
Eataly is hosting its Italian wine festival on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October, two evenings of walk-around tastings on the first floor of their Bishopsgate store. It's a simple enough setup: producers from across Italy bring their wines over to London, and you spend the night moving between them. You get a map to help you navigate, and from there you can work your way through reds, whites and sparkling wines from different regions, tasting as you go.
Each person gets a wine glass and an Eataly pouch to take home. The tastings work on a token system: a standard 75ml pour costs one token, while the premium ones take two. You buy your tokens in bundles in advance: five for £30, seven for £40, ten for £50, or twelve for £60. If you run out on the night, single tokens are available for £5 each. There's no food included in the ticket, but you can pick up whatever you fancy from the store separately.
Both nights run from 5 pm to 10 pm, with last entry at 9 pm, so you've got a good five-hour window to work through your tokens. Tickets are non-refundable, though you can transfer yours to another name or a different session if your plans change. Online sales close two hours before each day begins, so if you're planning to go, it's worth sorting your tickets a bit ahead of time.
