Multi-cinema festival of music documentaries with four world premieres, eleven UK premieres and five London premieres across seven London cinemas.
Doc'N'Roll returns to London from 22nd October to 8th November, its 13th edition. It's a festival of music documentaries that this time runs for 18 days across seven cinemas, including the Barbican, BFI IMAX, ICA and Rio Cinema. The programme covers a wide stretch of ground: punk, jazz and blues, electronica, prog-folk, Afro-funk, queer art-pop and the indigenous sounds of the Arctic.
There are four world premieres in the mix, alongside eleven UK premieres and five London premieres. Among them are NOFX: 40 Years of Fuckin' Up!, 7 Days in May: Mac DeMarco and Ryan Paris, Newport and the Great Folk Dream and Heaven 17: The Last Temptation. The line-up is built around these new arrivals, but the festival also brings back older titles, so you can pick and choose from the new stuff and the records that have been around a while.
Beyond the screenings, there are Q&As with filmmakers and talent, which give you a chance to hear from the people behind the films. It's a multi-city festival that's been running for over a decade, and this London edition is its 13th. The screenings are spread across the 18 days, so you can catch a few films over a weekend or build a proper run of them across the whole period.
