Free winter art trail of twelve artist-designed Dennis the Menace and Gnasher sculptures around the Fleet Street Quarter, marking the 75th anniversary of the Beano character.
The Dennis and Gnasher Mega Mischief Trail arrives in the Fleet Street Quarter on 18 November, with twelve artist-designed Dennis the Menace sculptures scattered across the area. It's a free art trail, so you just wander through the streets and find them at your own pace. Along with the sculptures, there are themed projections of Dennis and Gnasher on the lighting display at Ludgate Circus, which should be worth a look when it gets dark.
The trail marks the 75th anniversary of Dennis the Menace, who first appeared in The Beano, and fits into the comic's 'Year of Mischief'. It was put together in partnership with Beano, the world's longest-running weekly comic, and Wild in Art, following last year's 'Snoopy in The City' trail, which brought in an extra 10,000 visitors a week. The setting is the Fleet Street Quarter, the historic heart of the British newspaper industry, where Beano publisher DC Thomson called home for more than a century.

The sculptures run alongside the wider Festive Fleet Street Quarter programme, a series of free and low-cost events throughout November and December. This year's festivities lean into literature as part of the National Year of Reading, so the Beano connection fits right in. The trail stays up through the winter, running from 18 November to 15 January, and it's free to visit.
