Dave Hill's Slade, the tribute band led by Dave Hill, plays the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on its London date.
Dave Hill's Slade play the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on Friday 18 December, the London stop of an eight-date tour. It's a night built around the Slade songbook, with Dave Hill himself leading the way.
Slade made their name on a mix of pop and rock'n'roll, a fair bit of flamboyance, and a good deal of fun, and they became a favourite worldwide. Their chart record runs to 23 Top 20 singles, including six number-one hits and six albums, with classics like 'Far Far Away', 'Cum on Feel the Noize' and 'Coz I Luv You' among them. The live show is described as a dynamic, powerful and exhilarating roller-coaster ride of unadulterated rock'n'roll.
On stage, Dave Hill takes on guitar and vocals. He's joined by Russell Keefe on vocals and keyboards, John Berry on vocals, bass and violin, and Alex Bines on drums. With four people on vocals across the band, the set has plenty of voices to carry the songs, and Berry's violin adds something a bit different to the usual rock'n'roll line-up. The London date is one of eight on the tour, so it's a good chance to catch them if you're around the city that December.
