Live concert by the Irish independent rock band Cardinals at the Electric Ballroom, over-14s only.
Cardinals play the Electric Ballroom on Thursday 12 November, with special guests opening the night. They're a five-piece from the northside of Cork city, and this is their London date.
There's a particular image that sticks with them: the small, dark rehearsal space they came up in, which they describe as 'very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer'. That kind of stark, unvarnished start sits right at the heart of what they do. Their debut album swings between extremes — darkness to light, hopefulness to despair, compassion to chaotic indifference — and they've positioned themselves at the vanguard of the Irish independent rock scene. It's a record that doesn't sit still, and that's exactly what they're bringing to the stage.
On the night, Cardinals take the main slot with special guests supporting them. Doors open at 19:00, and the curfew is 23:00, so there's plenty of room for the support and the main set without it feeling rushed. Tickets are £18.
