Free outdoor mural trail by young and emerging artists inspired by Frida Kahlo, installed across the streets of Bankside.
Beyond Boundaries is a street-mural trail running across the Bankside area of London, commissioned by Tate Collective and Better Bankside. It first launched in 2021 and has since built on that first edition's success, with the murals spread across several streets rather than gathered in one spot. You'll find them at 25 Sumner Street, 28 Great Suffolk Street, 55 Ewer Street, 30 Great Guildford Street, 28 Southwark Street, and 5 Green Dragon Court.
The whole project is built around Frida Kahlo's global influence as an artist who challenged convention and redefined self-expression. The trail continues to commission young and emerging artists to create public works in response to her, so each mural is a different take on her legacy. They're installed across Bankside and intended to stay in place for several years, which means you can see them on your own time rather than rushing to catch a short-run show.
Behind the scenes, Tate Collective is the driver. It's a free-to-join scheme for 16-25 year olds that gives you £5 exhibition tickets, in-gallery discounts, and free events, supported by The Rothschild Foundation and Tate Patrons. The murals are free to view, so you don't need to be a member to walk the trail.

If you're heading down, the murals are scattered across Bankside, so it's more of a wander than a single visit. You can see them at 25 Sumner Street, 28 Great Suffolk Street, 55 Ewer Street, 30 Great Guildford Street, 28 Southwark Street, and 5 Green Dragon Court. They're free to view and meant to stay up for several years, so there's no rush to get to them all in one go.
