Annual celebration of apples at the city farm with traditional varieties, apple pressing and tasting, craft and food stalls, tractor rides and children's activities.
Woodlands Farm Trust is hosting Apple Day on Sunday 18 October, from 11am to 4pm. It's the annual celebration of the nation's favourite fruit, and this year it's all about the apple in its full glory. The day is built around the fruit itself: you can buy traditional varieties you won't find in supermarkets, try your hand at apple pressing, and taste freshly squeezed juice. There's cider on the go, along with craft and food stalls, and children's activities running throughout the day. If the weather holds, they'll also be running tractor and trailer rides.
It helps to know where you're heading. Woodlands Farm Trust is an 89-acre working city farm run as a charity conservation and education project on the border of the London Boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley. It's a bit of a hidden pocket of the countryside within London, where you'll find farm animals, native bird species, butterflies, wild flowers and ancient woodlands. The farm is open to individuals, families and groups from Tuesday to Sunday, 9.30am to 4.30pm, and they also run a hands-on hedge-laying course if you're into that sort of thing.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in London and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
