A vibrant and unapologetically queer cabaret performance by Young Homotopia exploring LGBTQIA+ identity through comedy, music and monologue.
Young Homotopia bring their cabaret Out Loud to the Playhouse Studio on Saturday 14 November, part of the Everyman & Playhouse Theatres' QueerCore programme. It's a 45-minute show, and the ticket is £5.
Out Loud is a queer cabaret devised and performed by Young Homotopia, a creative programme run by Homotopia in partnership with YPAS - GYRO. It strings together comedy sketches, joyful musical moments and heartfelt monologues to explore what it means to grow up LGBTQIA+ today. The set celebrates queer identity, friendship, self-expression and the freedom to be exactly who you are, and it frames Pride not just as where we've come from but as the world we want to create.
The show sits within the venue's QueerCore programme, which showcases the creativity, experimentation and ideas emerging from that year's QueerCore. Young Homotopia itself is free to join and gives LGBTQIA+ teenagers and young adults the chance to explore their identities through art and performance, with sessions led by Homotopia's Development Producer Ashleigh Owen and a number of visiting practitioners. Out Loud is the result of that work brought to the stage.
