Facilitated, relaxed 'Time To Write' creative writing session at the Writer's Bloc creative writing centre in Toxteth Library.
Writer's Bloc is back at Toxteth Library on Friday 20 November for another Time To Write session. It's one of their facilitated, relaxed writing mornings, held every other fortnight at the library, so if you've missed the last one, this is your next chance to get stuck back in.
For those who haven't come across it yet, Writer's Bloc is Writing on the Wall's dedicated creative writing centre here in Liverpool. It's a space where writers from all backgrounds can write, connect and grow together, and it's open to anyone with a passion for writing, whether you're just starting out or you've been at it for years. The Time To Write sessions are part of that—facilitated, relaxed mornings where the focus is just on getting words down on the page.
The centre itself has a bit of a story. It launched online during lockdown and moved into Toxteth Library on 7 June 2024, with acclaimed Liverpool screenwriter Tony Schumacher—creator of the award-winning BBC drama The Responder—as its figurehead. It sits alongside Writing on the Wall's wider creative programmes, and it's not just in Toxteth; sessions run across three venues in the Liverpool City Region—Toxteth Library, Bootle Library and Birkenhead Central Library—as well as online. The whole thing is supported by funding from the Amazon Regional Creatives Fund.
