Alternative Halloween cabaret night of live music and the arts celebrating queer and alternative culture, by Gothfrog Productions.
Weirdos Moshers & Freaks 2 is back at District on Saturday 31 October, the second instalment of the Halloween metal cabaret. It's brought to you by Gothfrog Productions, who've run the series before, and it lands on Halloween night itself, so the date fits the theme.
It's not just a gig, though. The organisers describe it as a night of live music, the arts and a celebration of queer and alternative culture, which gives you a better sense of what to expect than just 'metal cabaret'. The 'cabaret' part suggests a variety of acts rather than a single band playing a set, and the focus on queer and alternative culture means it's built around the city's more fringe, non-mainstream scenes.
If you've been to the first one, you'll know the sort of thing it is. If not, the title does a fair bit of the heavy lifting: it's aimed at the weirdos, the moshers and the freaks, and it's all under the Halloween banner. It's a night for the alternative crowd to get together and celebrate the stranger side of things, with the music and the performance side of things running side by side.

It all goes down at District, 61 Jordan Street, L1 0BW, in the city centre. The start time is 7pm on Saturday 31 October, so it's a proper Halloween night out rather than a mid-week thing. If you're into the alternative scene in Liverpool, this is one of the more specific dates for the calendar this autumn.
