Weekly Tuesday of acoustic acts in the front room of The Cavern Club on Mathew Street, with several short sets.
The Cavern Club has a full day of acoustic music on Tuesday 20 October, with six artists taking turns in the front room from the morning through to midnight. It's one of those days where you can drop in for a single set or stick around for a few in a row, rather than committing to one fixed start time.
Jim Yeung opens the day, playing from 11:15am to 1:00pm, followed by Clark Gilmour from 1:15pm to 3:00pm. Tony Skeggs takes the 3:15pm to 5:00pm slot, and Martin Quinn follows from 5:15pm to 7:00pm. The evening continues with Jonny Parry from 7:15pm to 9:00pm, and Jay Murray closes things out from 9:15pm until midnight. Each set runs for roughly one hour and forty-five minutes, with a short gap between them.
It's worth remembering where this sits in the wider Cavern setup. The club bills itself as the most famous club in the world, and its Live Lounge is fronted by The Cavern Club Beatles, the resident band whose show covers every era of the Fab Four's music, from the early days of the club to the rooftop. On Mathew Street sits The Cavern Pub, a sister venue open seven days a week with free entry and live music every day. On Mondays at 8pm, local musician Ian Prowse, of Pele and Amsterdam, hosts 'The Monday Club', a weekly open-mic night for original artists.
