Hot Water Comedy's flagship stand-up night with four headliners, Phil Chapman, Smug Roberts, Rob Mulholland and Tony Carroll, at Blackstock Market.
Hot Water Comedy are back at Blackstock Market on Friday 27 November with their Triple Headline Show, the promoter's flagship format. It's a night that does exactly what it says on the tin: instead of one big name supported by a few openers, they book several established headliners from across the UK and beyond, with regular TV faces in the mix. The show runs from 19:00 to 21:00, with doors opening at 17:30.
The line-up for this one brings together four comics with very different backgrounds. Phil Chapman is a prolific circuit writer who's written for BBC Radio 4's The News Quiz and Newsjack. Smug Roberts is known on the Manchester circuit as the 'Godfather of Comedy', and Rob Mulholland is the tall, rapid-fire one of the group. Tony Carroll has been performing stand-up since the 1980s, so there's a fair bit of experience on the bill.
Hot Water Comedy is based here in Liverpool, where they run shows at two award-winning, purpose-built comedy venues. The Triple Headline Show is their main format, and this one is staged at Blackstock Market, which is billed as Liverpool's biggest food market. Because it's a market and not just a comedy club, there's live music before and after the comedy, a roof terrace, a whisky bar, a cocktail bar, and food available all day, so you can make a full evening of it rather than just popping in for the show.
